Red Bull PATCHBOX Success Story EET

The following success story was originally published by the official PATCHBOX Distributor EET in the Polish Magazine AVIntegracje. EET, AV-IT Solutions and Red Bull allowed us to translate, rewrite publish it on our homepage. Thank you, EET, AV-IT Solutions and Red Bull, for your cooperation.

In 2021, AV-IT Solutions, a Krakow-based system integrator, completed an impressive audiovisual installation at Red Bull’s new office in Fort Mokotów.

Their work included a large, curved OLED screen used for welcoming guests and hosting events, audio systems, and a control system to manage various devices.

Recently, AV-IT Solutions returned to update the equipment racks, a behind-the-scenes component that had been overlooked during the initial project.

The disorganized cabling and lack of labeling were creating challenges for the specialists maintaining the network.

During the modernization process, PATCHBOX with its retractable cables emerged as the perfect choice to bring order to the racks.

Available through EET distribution in Poland and other European countries, PATCHBOX products are designed to simplify daily rack configuration and cabling.

PATCHBOX, created by Alexander Geng and Josef Hofstätter, are built to handle up to 24 retractable Cat.6a or fiber optic cables, reducing space usage by up to 50% and making installation and maintenance up to 8x faster.

This system resolves common issues like airflow restrictions, equipment replacement difficulties, and power supply problems that could damage valuable hardware.

The solution offers ready-to-install system and customizable options, such as colored cassettes and various port configurations, to meet the unique needs of each project.

For Red Bull, where attention to detail and branding are paramount, the racks were customized with red, yellow, and blue cables to reflect the company’s logo and brand.

Jakub Druzic, head of AV-IT Solutions, noted, “The single PATCHBOX panel is built on the basis of a kind of removable sword. As a result, if a component fails in the entire set, it is not necessary to replace the entire panel but only the single module. On the other hand, the cables used in these guides have a small cross-section and a low profile, so laying them is not problematic.”

In addition to PATCHBOX Cable Management System, the team implemented the /dev/mount system for mounting network switches.

This innovative tool-free solution speeds up installation and reduces the risk of injury. They also used the Setup.exe, made of stainless steel and aluminum, capable of supporting up to 50kg. It was invaluable for supporting devices during cabling and rack installation.

Beyond installing PATCHBOX Systems, the team meticulously labeled every port in the network infrastructure, an essential but complex task given the system’s scale.

To avoid disrupting Red Bull’s operations, all work was completed outside office hours, and the team conducted a thorough inspection to identify each cable and switch.

This project highlights AV-IT Solutions’ significant impact each time they collaborate with Red Bull Polska.

In 2021, they delivered a stunning OLED screen and a seamless multi-zone audio and control system. Now, they have shifted focus to the office’s backbone infrastructure, ensuring the equipment racks are not only functional but visually appealing.

The color-coded cables in the newly organized racks add a touch of branding while improving daily operations.

Maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting are now easier and more efficient, saving valuable time and reducing costs. With the AV team, IT department, and Red Bull’s investors all satisfied, this project stands as another success for the Krakow integrator.
